Last winter, I had the pleasure of photographing a stunning, expansive residence in Severn, Maryland. Spanning 5,870 square feet, this property features five bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms. The home radiates charm through its French country accents and an open, airy floor plan.
The grand entryway welcomes guests with an abundance of natural light, gleaming hardwood floors, elegant column accents, and an impressive staircase. To the left lies the dining room, while a formal sitting room sits directly across from the entrance. The dining room was a personal highlight of the session. The intricate chair rail and the elegant candelabra suspended above the table introduce a wonderful sense of refinement. A large picture window offers a picturesque view of the front yard.
Venturing past the staircase reveals the heart of the home, comprising the kitchen and living area. The kitchen continues that welcoming French country aesthetic, pairing oak cabinetry with stainless steel appliances. A hanging rack for pots and pans above the island creates a warm, inviting atmosphere, while the stone backsplash provides a beautiful textural contrast to the room.
The family room is expansive, offering generous space for gathering with friends and loved ones. High ceilings enhance the room, making it feel even more open. Tucked just off the family room, the sunroom offers a tranquil retreat for guests. Floor to ceiling windows make it the ideal spot for enjoying a view of the outdoors.
Heading upstairs, the primary suite steals the spotlight. The bedroom maintains the theme of generous proportions, including a cozy gas fireplace and ample room for a private sitting area. A tray ceiling adds a sophisticated architectural detail. The primary bathroom is truly a dream. It features dual separate vanities for convenient morning routines and a dedicated space for a makeup desk. The walk-in shower showcases high-end finishes, and a separate soaking tub provides the ultimate spot to unwind after a long day.
