Last fall, I had the pleasure of photographing a magnificent Baltimore townhouse built over a century ago. This 1,948 square foot home features four bedrooms and three bathrooms, representing the ultimate blend of historic preservation and expert renovation.

The main floor is a lesson in balanced design. The open concept living area instantly charms with its warm wood floors and exposed brick accent wall. The brightness of the white walls is beautifully contrasted by the historic depth of the original stained glass feature above the main window, a true conversation starter from the early 1900s.

Beyond the living room, you transition seamlessly into the dining area, which is compact but easily accommodates a six person table for dinner parties. The kitchen is undoubtedly the home’s defining feature. Expertly installed quartz countertops, gorgeous white cabinetry, and stainless steel appliances set a high bar. But it is the details that shine, such as the sharp contrast of the black fixtures, the custom built-in shelving perfect for cookbooks, and the clever white faux brick backsplash that playfully nods to the main floor’s brick accent wall. The central island provides both prep space and a breakfast bar.

Upstairs, the primary suite is a light filled retreat, surrounded by a unique half circle window arrangement. The room is large enough for a king sized bed with space for a dresser and side tables. The en-suite primary bathroom delivers pure indulgence, designed with five star hotel level luxury in mind. Highlights include quartz countertops, stainless steel fixtures, a marble backsplash, a stone shower floor, and the distinctive charm of waterfall faucets.

Function meets style in the basement, which offers significant extra square footage. With two flexible bedrooms (perfect as offices) and large windows, the space feels bright and welcoming. The light wood floors are an elegant choice, and the convenience of a basement door leading to the carport makes this urban living efficient and beautiful.
