Last autumn, I had the pleasure of photographing a stunning two-story residence nestled in picturesque Queenstown. This generously appointed home spans 1700 square feet, offering four cozy bedrooms and two well appointed bathrooms. The entire design radiates a charming cabin in the woods aesthetic, enhanced by an abundance of natural light streaming throughout the day.

The heart of the main level features a fluid, open floor plan, perfect for modern living. In the living room, soaring cathedral ceilings are clad in a warm, rich wood facade, creating an immediate sense of grandeur and rustic elegance. Large skylights are perfectly positioned to flood the space in brilliant natural light. A stately fireplace serves as the centerpiece, offering a magnificent focal point and featuring a broad mantle ideal for displaying cherished artwork or family heirlooms. The continuous wood flooring throughout grounds the room and deepens the immersive cabin in the woods sensation.

The kitchen is truly a home cook's dream. Culinary creativity is inspired by light gray cabinetry, a classic farmhouse sink, and an array of stainless steel appliances, including a professional grade gas range. The expansive stainless steel island is both a modern design element and a convenient workspace for effortless meal preparation. This thoughtfully designed space offers extensive storage solutions, complemented by generous open shelving perfect for showcasing your finest china and favorite cookware.

The secluded main level guest bedroom provides a perfect retreat for visiting friends or family. A stylish wooden barn door adds a touch of rustic whimsy while ensuring complete privacy. The handsome wooden floors flow seamlessly from the living area into the guest quarters, maintaining a consistent and welcoming atmosphere.

Without a doubt, my favorite area of the house is the second level landing. This generous space presents a lovely opportunity for a dedicated sitting area or a tranquil reading nook. It truly is the ideal haven to curl up with a good book and a comforting cup of tea. Like the rest of the house, this elevated area benefits from abundant sunlight pouring in through impressive floor to ceiling windows.

While the interior of this home boasts countless special amenities, the exterior grounds are equally impressive. The backyard sanctuary features a refreshing swimming pool, a luxurious hot tub, and a sprawling deck ideal for outdoor entertaining. Beyond the defined patio space, the property extends with ample lawn with room enough for lively yard games or simply stringing up a peaceful hammock. A private trail meanders down to the picturesque Wye River. This waterway eventually flows into the Eastern Bay, which opens to the majestic Chesapeake Bay. It is truly the perfect natural launch point for kayaking or canoeing.
